It's been about a year and a half. I think I'll go hibernate for awhile. Stay groovy, everyone.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and thank you to all readers for helping this wacky deer comic somehow make it to the popular section!

I might make a journal over on my DA page, and if I do I might post it here as news. If you're interested in more of my works, I also did a comic about coywolves that you can find from my profile. Additionally, I won't be posting for a long while but when I do move on to future projects, I'll announce it as a new article here.

Thank you so much, what a wonderful comic you made for us to enjoy! It was an absolute treasure getting to read your work. I'll miss looking forward to updates every few days, your notifications always got me the most excited out of all the comics I follow. But it's fantastic to see an amazing comic come to a close. Rig is alone but she is alive, and maybe that's the best we could hope for, for now.

Enjoy your rest, and if/when you begin your future projects, I'll be the first to favorite! :3 Thanks again, Songdog.

Goodness! This was really a great comic, from the start to the end. I loved all the themes explored in this comic and the character development was AMAZING, to say the least. Looking back, especially at how Rig’s grown, I can say for sure that everyone here has learned some sort of interesting lesson. Great work as always, and congrats for the completion of this wonderful work!

My message said: "Oh hello! That would be very sweet of you ^^ You can link it here, but I also use DA if that's easier. Actually I even link to DoD gift-art on my pages when I upload to DA!"

I am surprised to see myself sadden with the comic's ending, but all things must go.

I think one reason I liked this comic so much is because this was my first deer comic, so I always felt they were underappreciated. I also adored Rig's quirky and smug personality. Her speech was also much like my own sometimes.

EDIT: oh whoops, didn't realize I wrote so much. To say the least, I loved this comic.

Out of the many comics I have as favorites, this one will definitely be the one I will miss seeing in my notifications most. I had read BoBD before, and so I definitely was excited to read this one too, but it surpassed my expectations by far. I love your comics, and one of the things that stand out the most is the moral questions. Just because a wolf have to kill a deer to survive, does that make the wolf the bad guy? In a comic with the deer as the main characters, it would feel like the wolves would be the bad ones. But your comics question that. And this is one of the reasons that I love your comics so much.

I'm not sure if this would really be considered a happy ending or not. If Rig was the same deer as she was in the beginning, then it definitely would. But with her hope to have a child of her own, her hope to be with Fen forever, all gone...it isn't really one. Sure, she will be able to live. But something I noticed in comparison to the beginning, she doesn't say "but most importantly, and above all else- I am alive." She says "and in spite of it all." It isn't something that she thought was all that important anymore. If she could've lived her life out with Fen and her own child, she would've been content with dying. Those two lines alone show how much Rig has developed.

So, to sum it all up- thank you for a beautiful comic that could both crush my feelings and make me feel hopeful for the characters. I look forward to any future projects. Thank you for making these amazing stories.

Thank you for making this excellent comic. I found this last night and read through finishing it this morning, and I am in awe of this tale. Such a beautiful, tragic tale you've woven, such interesting characters and philosophies discussed.
